David Cox and Steve Hockett won the 2013 Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters Truman Lake Ultimate Challenge, sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Humminbird, Minn Kota, Mercury Motors, Bobby Garland, Spike it, Clinton Tourism and Visitors Bureau and Bucksaw Marina & Resort. One of the most prestigious tournaments on the tournament trail, the competition is always great.
Cox and Hockett were in third place after day one. The team weighed in 17.03 lbs. for their two day total. They fished 15-30 foot waters finding fish scattered using Bobby Garland black & chartreuse jigs, Ozark Rods, Mercury motor and Humminbird electronics. The team earned $5000.00 for first place.
Matt Beckman and Dave Lundquist took second place with a 16.54 lbs total. The team fished 13-18 foot waters catching most fish at 12 foot depths. They used Bobby Garland June bug-chartuese jigs. After day one they were in 18th place but day two they turned it around, moving up to take second place. They earned $2500.00.
Marty Snider and Jackie Albin was in fifth place after day one. They moved up to take third place with a two day total of 16.39 lbs. The Crappie Town team used Bobby Garland MoGlo lime-chartruese jigs, Bass Pro Crappie Max poles, Mercury motor, Humminbird electronics and Minn kota trolling motor. They fished 16-18 foot depths catching fish 12 foot deep.

Big fish winners were Aaron Clark and Dylan Clark with a 1.77 lb. crappie. Kevin and Charlie Rogers had second big fish with a 1.70 lbs crappie. Top male and female was Tamie Mcgrann and Allison Mcgrann with13.46 lbs. Top adult youth was Frank Haidusek and Austin McClure with 13.92 lbs. Both the top male-female and the adult-youth won a Minn Kota trolling motor.
Next on the tournament trail will be the second leg of the Missouri State Championship on Mark Twain Lake, August 10th. The final leg will be August 24th on Truman Lake. These will be the final qualifying tournaments for the 2013 National Championship on Greanda Lake in September.
