CRAPPIE MASTERS APPLAUDS EPA RULING PDF Print

Crappie Masters, who has been a strong advocate of ethanol in the marine industry and in general, is thrilled with the announcement that the EPA made the decision to increase the RFS number to 19.29 billion gallons, a 0.05 percent increase over the 2017 numbers showing support and belief in agriculture, the American farmer, conservation, and the environment. In turn, not succumbing to a few misinformed groups who choose to ignore scientific fact ,data, and the rapidly changing pulse of a more educated boating industry. That opinion has been on full display the last 3 years on the Crappie Masters Tournament Trail, as every winning team has collected a cash bonus for using E10 fuel in their outboard with no negative issues or misfueling! Crappie Masters surveys have shown E10 fuel is the preferred choice by nearly all the participants across the country who have chosen to become educated on the benefits while enjoying increased performance, lower fuel costs, cleaner emissions, and cleaner and healthier waterways thanks to the RFS requirements, and belief by the EPA.

PATIENCE LEADS TURNER TO VICTORY ON CARLYLE PDF Print

On a near record high temperature day and strong winds, Paul Turner sit on one brush pile and caught seven crappie weighing 8.81 pounds with a 1.59 kicker fish to win the Crappie Masters, sponsored by the Renewable Fuels Association "Ethanol Fueled With Pride", American Ethanol, and Bass Pro Shops, Carlyle Lake Early Bird 2018 National Qualifying Tournament hosted by the City of Carlyle, Clinton County Tourism, and The Fish House on Carlyle Lake on October 14th. Turner, fishing by himself, found three different brush piles in practice that held fish, but one in particular held the quality fish he was looking for. With many patterns breaking down during the week due to weather and moving fish, Turner made the decision to stay in the one spot where the fish stayed.  Turner said the key was to use a two ounce weight and minnows to get the lines deep in the brush pile to trigger the bite. Turner also mentioned he went through over 300 rigs through the week, however if he wasn't fishing 10 feet down in 12 feet of water, he couldn't get the bite he wanted.  With the high winds, Turner credited his Minn Kota Trolling Motor with the Spot Lock feature, Humminbird Electronics, and the new B’n’M Pow-R-Troller Poles as the difference makers. For the victory, his third over the last two seasons, Turner took home $3700.00 along with an additional $602.00 for the big fish, his 1.59 kicker, plus additional angler incentives including the $250.00 Missouri Corn Growers Association/American Ethanol bonus for using E10 fuel in his boat along with the $100.00 Jenko Fishing bonus for using Jenko products. Paul and Elizabeth Turner are sponsored by Crappieholic.
