Beautiful Reelfoot Lake brings anglers from 13 states!!
Beautiful Reelfoot Lake brought anglers from all over to compete in Bass Pro Crappie Masters National Qualifier. Anglers from 13 states competed for the top spot of one of the best fishing lakes around. 232 anglers fished the National Qaulifier with 3 states represented in the top five spots.
Arkansas team of Jimmy Pennington and Charles Carpenter won first place with a 7 fish total weight of 11.44lbs. First place took the prize of 2 Arctic Cat 4x4's. Pennington and Carpenter edged out second place Tennesse team of Roger Wabum and Tommy Hogg whom brought in a total weight of 11.22lbs and took home $3,000.00.
Third place went to Danny Carter and Kennie Calson of Kentucky. Carter and Calson brought a 7 fish total of 10.49lbs and took home $1,500.00. Tony Duncan and Randy Allmon of Tennessee took fourth place with a prize of $1000.00 with their weight of 10.36lbs. Local anglers from Tiptonville, TN. John Adock and Daniel Finch placed 5th with 10.02 lbs and won $650.00.
The top anglers averaged well over 1 lb per crappie and big fish was won by Mississippi anglers Alvin Perry and Vic Finkley with a big fish well over 2 lbs weighing 2.55lbs. Second big fish was 2.46lbs brought in by second place team of Roger Wabum and Tommy Hogg.
Reelfoot Lake is well known for its beauty and variety outdoor activities and habitat. Reelfoot tourism (www.reelfoottoursim.com) was instrumental in making the tournament a success.
