The City of Tavares is not only a great place to visit and a beautiful city, the cities dignitaries were the top anglers at Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters media fish off. Fishing with teams that will be competing during the Toyota Tundra Harris Chain of Lakes tournament in Tavares, Florida for some fun, first place went to City Clerk Nancy Barnett who was teamed up with Deen Reepalius from Oklahoma. The rules are for the teams to bring in one “crappie” and Mrs. Barnett brought in one weighing 1.34 lbs.
Second place went to Greg Feninco of Bass Pro Outdoors World of Orlando. Greg fished with Bass Pro Shops pro staff Don Collins and they weighed in a 1.23 pounder.
Third place went to Mayor Nancy Clutts of Tavares who weighed in 1.19 pound crappie. The mayor fished with BnM pole team Whitey Outlaw and Dean Sanders.
Fourth place tied and went to Rick Gonzalez of Tavares Station who weighed in a 1.14 pound crappie fishing with Foodsource team Stephen McElroy. The team tied with Lou Spray of Tavares fishing with Bobby Garlands Ned Rutledge.
Fifth place went to Jim Sweetman with 1.10 lbs fishing with BnM husband wife team of James and Barbara Reedy.
Other participating vip guest were Debbie Dyer fishing with Hydroglow team Phill and Eva Rambo, Bass Pro Shops Orlando pro staff Ben Beckner with BnM team Joe Meyer, Corporal John Hall City of Tavares Police Marine fishing with Bass pro staff Don Collins, Cris Thompson with team Dick& Sally Rambo, Robbie Wolf with Elwood Shepherd, Jeff and Chip Sanders with Florida Outdoors Adventure magazine with Triton team Bill Braswell.
Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters held a media lunch and presented awards from Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Orlando, for their efforts. The fish off was a lot of fun and Bass Pro Shops appreciates the vips and anglers for their participation.
