Imagine listening to tips and techniques from some of the best anglers in the country. Imagine asking questions that could make your fishing better. Imagine having access to anglers that fish the trail regularly. If you missed the Crappie Techniques School held in Clarksville, VA. you should have been there! The first ever crappie techniques school that was held in association with the one day national qualifier on Kerr Buggs Lake was the place to be to learn how to fish better. One angler that attended the classes went out later and caught his biggest crappie to date.

Larry Thornhill, Fish Harder Co. and Clarksville Economic Development Association held the classes with anglers doing lectures and taking questions. The seminars were excellent and informative, just look at who was teaching. Wally Marshall- 2003 National Champion- pulling crank baits for crappie, Earl Brink – 2006 Crappie Masters National Champion – Slow trolling for crappie, Phil & Eva Rambo - Hydro Glow Pro Staff Team – night fishing with Hydro Glow Lights, Coy & Gilford Sipes – 2004 Crappie Masters National Champions – Road Runner and B&M Pro Staff Team – slow trolling for crappie with corks, Tim Huffman – How to catch big crappie, how to catch more crappie, Gary Mason –Tips and techniques on locating crappie through the season – building and locating structure, Whitey Outlaw – Team Toyota & BnM Pro Staff Team – long line trolling for Crappie, Stephen McElroy- Team Foodsource – long line trolling for Crappie, Bill Braswell – Crappie techniques and boat equipment – color and bait selection, Wade Mansfield – American Angler Pro Staff Team – Grizzly Jigs Pro Staff – shooting docks and vertical jigging, Richard Lindsey – Using you Biosonix unit efficiently, Proplite and Cajun Fryer.

The anglers that attended went across the age spectrum from young to older. They thoroughly enjoyed the classes and mingling with the lecturers around their boats after class to get more tips. Some of the attendees went home with sponsor prizes from a drawing held at the end.
