Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters held a Tracker Series Divisional tournament June 14, 2008 at Sardis Lake in Sardis, MS. The bite was on during pre fish days as teams reported catching a lot of crappie during the week, keeping fish alive in the heat was a challenge as many teams lost fish before they could weigh in that could of made a difference.

Rick Odom and Danny McCormick did what it took to bring in a seven fish limit of 11.30 lbs to take first place. The team also won big fish honors with a 2.05 lb. crappie. The team stated they pulled chartreuse/orange crank baits in 25 foot of waters fishing 12 to 18 foot deep. The team fished the Clear creek area. Their efforts earned them over $1200.00.

Second place went to Dickey Barry and Tom Bryner who was only .14 oz out of first place with a total of 11.16 lbs. The team also fished the clear creek area pulling crank baits. The team earned $600.00.

Third place went to Road Runner team Coy & Gilford Sipes who slow trolled with heavy weights in 28 ft waters fishing 16-19 foot deep. The team fished with BnM poles with Pink/White road runners tipped with minnows weighing in 11.01 lbs.

Fourth place was Larry and Michael Bivens with 10.61 lbs. The team also won top adult/youth honors. Fifth place was Robert Chaney and Elizabeth Chaney with 10.55 lbs. who also won top Male/Female honors. The tournament had 8 adult/youth and male female teams.

The next tournament is a major one day national qualifier on Mark Twain Lake June 28th in Missouri, followed by the Missouri State Championship on Truman Lake August 2-3 with the final tournament before the championship being the Mississippi State Championship September 19-20 at Tunica/Arkabutla Lakes.
