Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters 2008 National Championship was held at Harris Chain of Lakes in Tavares, Fl on October 17 & 18. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Toyota, Mercury, Minn Kota, Humminbird, City of Tavares and Lake County Visitor Bureau, Mike Parrott was named the 2008 National Champion. Parrott fished alone and earned himself 2 Nitro Z 8 fully rigged boats with a 225 hp Mercury motor. Parrott. The champion was in third place after day one with a total 9.09 lbs. On day two he weighed in 9.46 lbs on seven fish for a championship total of 18.55 lbs.

Second place was husband and wife team, day one leaders and first year championship participants Bill and Kim Lesters. The Lesters won a 2008 Toyota Tundra Truck sponsored by South East Toyota. They weighed in 9.61 lbs. on day one but could only bring in 8.31 lbs. on day two for a total weight of 17.92 lbs. The team also earned top male female honors winning a Minn Kota trolling motor.

Third place went to husband wife team of Tim and Cathy Langham who earned $5000.00 cash. The team weighed in 8.54 lbs on day one and was in 12 place. On day two they weighed in 9.26 lbs to over take many anglers with a total weight of 17.80 lbs.

Adult youth team of Matt and Drew Morgan had an excellent championship taking adult youth honors winning a Minn Kota trolling motor and taking 10th place overall. Gregg Mathews and Ronnie Shealy took the top big fish honors netting a 1.90 lb crappie on day one.
