Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters holds a major one day national qualifier with a grass roots division on February 13 at Lake Talquin. Sponsored by Gadsden County Florida, Tallahasee Sports Commission and Toyota. Anglers entered in the one day major tournament will compete for a guaranteed minimum of $10,000.00 cash plus prizes. While grass root anglers will compete with each other for 70% of the grass roots entries. The Grass Roots division is for anglers who have never fished a Crappie Masters tournament in the last 5 years or who only have fished a grass roots tournament and would like to experience tournament fishing. Grass Roots entries are 60.00 per team and they will fish against other grass root entries for 70% of the total purse. All rules apply for the grass roots division. Grass roots entries can not qualify for the National Championship held in October on Truman Lake, Clinton, MO. The top 15 teams of each major one day and two day events will qualify for championship in 2010.

Seminar and late entry registration for Lake Talquin has been changed to the Ramada Inn, 2900 N. Monroe St., I-10 and exit 199 US Hwy 27, Tallahassee, FL 32303 US February 5, 2010 with registration at 5 pm and the seminar at 6:30 pm. The tournament on Saturday will weigh-in at Whippoorwill Sportsman Lodge as anglers fish from 7 am to 3:30 pm and the weigh in is open to the public. Come enjoy the fun!

Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters Kid’s Rodeo is February 13th and free for children 15 and under. Parents may bring their kids to fish for prizes and fun. Registration is 8am and activities are from 9 am to 11 am at Ingram’s Marina. Kids will need to bring their poles and bait.

The Lake Talquin event is followed by the a major one day national qualifier and grass roots tournament at Weiss Lake, Centre, AL. On Feb. 27, 2010.
