Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters holds a major one day national qualifier with a grass roots division on Feb 27, 2010 at Weiss Lake, Centre, AL. Sponsored by Cherokee County COC and South East Toyota, anglers entered in the one day major tournament will compete for a guaranteed minimum of $10,000.00 cash plus prizes. Grass root anglers will compete with each other for 70% of the grass roots entries. The Grass Roots division is for anglers who have never fished a Crappie Masters tournament in the last 5 years or has only fished a grass roots event. Grass Roots entries are 60.00 per team and they will fish against other grass root entries for 70% of the total purse. All rules apply for the grass roots division. Grass roots entries can not qualify for the National Championship to be held in October on Truman Lake, Clinton, MO. The top 15 teams of each major one day qualifier and two day tournaments will qualify for the National Championship.

Seminar and late entry registration for Weiss Lake is Feb 26, 2010 at the Community Meeting Room, Gadsden State Cherokee Arena, Centre, AL., with registration at 5 pm and the seminar at 6:30 pm. The tournament on Saturday will also hold the weigh in at JR’S Marina, as anglers fish from 7 am to 3:30 pm. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the weigh in.

Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters Kid’s Rodeo is Feb. 27 and free for children 15 and under. Parents may bring their kids to fish for prizes and fun. Registration is 8am and activities are from 9 am to 11 am at JR’S Marina. Kids will need to bring their poles and bait. All kids will have a chance to enter a 2011 tournament and a chance to go to the 2010 National Championship to compete for a college scholarship fund.

The Lake Weiss tournament is followed by a one day major national qualifier at Reelfoot Lake, Tiptonville, TN. on March 13, 2010.
