I use a Palomar knot and my partner uses a loop knot. A Palomar knot doesn't have two lines going to it like the loop knot. Mine tightens down on the head which causes it to hand vertical in the water.

We shoot jigs so it puts my knot to the front of the jig. I think this gives the fish a different look compared to my partner's loop knot. His has more action in the water.

The Palomar is easy to tie. I use four pound test line and rarely have a knot break before my line. I use it for any technique and in my bass and striper fishing.

Stren Magnathin is a good line for knots and fishing because it has no memory. Many people don't understand that line curling off your reel will reduce casting distance and sensitivity. The fish will spit the jig out before you see the bite.
