Crappie Masters Coming to Virginia & Crappie Techniques School

Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters All American Trail is coming to Kerr Reservoir March 29th, 2008 for its first tournament on the lake. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Toyota, Mercury Motors, Minn-Kota, Humminbird, Clarksville Convention and Visitor Bureau and the Clarksville Economic Development Association the tournament is a guaranteed $12,000.00 minimum payback and a chance to win $100,000.00 if a state record is caught. Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters and Blakemore lures is sponsoring a state record bonus. Anglers can win $50,000.00 for breaking the Virginia State Record during tournament hours and an additional $50,000.00 if caught on a Roadrunner. The fish must be caught any where on Kerr Buggs, however the angler must enter the waters from the Virginia side and weigh in on Virginia side of Kerr Buggs to be eligible.
The tournament is held in conjunction with the Crappie Techniques School March 27 & 28th presented by Fish Harder Co.
March 26 will include a “Outdoors Media Tournament” from 7am - 11am followed by lunch and awards.
The tournament on March 29th is open to all crappie anglers. Registration and seminar is at 5 p.m. on March 28th at the Host Hotel and Headquarters, Best Western on the Lake, 103 2nd Street, Clarksville, VA. The Co-host motel is the Lake Motel & Efficiencies. Anglers may sign up online, mail in entry form or sign up at the registration. The weigh in is 2:30 p.m. at the Occoneechee State Park, Main Boat Ramp, 1192 Occoneechee Park Road, Clarksville, VA. and is open to the public.
A free kid’s fishing rodeo will be held at the weigh in site on March 29th. Registration is from 8 am – 9 pm with activities running from 9 am to 11 am. Kids should bring their own pole and baits. Prizes will be awarded and all participating kids will get a prize.
