Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters announces its Alabama State Championship for 2009

The Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters Alabama State Championship becomes a reality for the 2009 tournament season. A two day – one entry fee event will be held on March 13 and 14, 2009 at the Alabama River in Millbrook, Alabama. The tournament is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Toyota, Mercury Motors, Minn Kota, Humminbird, The City of Millbrook, Elmore County, Alabama Wildlife Foundation and the Millbrook Chamber of Commerce. Anglers will compete for the title plus a guaranteed 100% payback and a chance to qualify for the 2009 National Championship held in Grenada, MS.

Fishable waters will be from Goldstar Park, Wetumka, AL. to Swift Creek, Autaugua, AL. The pre-registration, banquet and seminar will be held March 12, 2009 with the location to be announced.

The kids fishing rodeo will be March 14, 2009 at the Alabama Wildlife Foundation, 3050 Lanark Rd, Millbrook, AL. Registration for the youths 12 and under is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with activities from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Kids need to bring their pole and bait. Each child will receive a prize.

Tournament weigh in will also be at the Alabama Wildlife Foundation and is open to the public. March 13th fishing hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Anglers must be in the weigh in line by 4:30 pm. March 14th fishing hours are 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Anglers must be in weigh in line by 3:30 pm.

A media vip fish off will held on March 12, 2009. Media personalities, entertainers and local dignitary will have the opportunity to fish for prizes and fun with tournament anglers.
